The celebrated Ugandan musician Joseph Mayanja has finally responded to Maddox Ssematimba, who claims Chameleone is not a legend in Ugandan music industry.

While appearing on NTV ‘Mwasuze mutya’ program last week, the ‘Namagembe’ hit maker said he is the only  legend in Uganda.

“I am not fighting to be a legend, though I have done a lot for the music industry. I still respect Maddox,” Chameleone explained.

Lately, Chameleone has been outshined by a new breed of young artistes, but many music lovers still adore and hold him in high regard for literally chasing away Congolese music that had dominated Ugandan music Industry for a longtime. He pioneered Afro-pop sound together with Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine.

Over the years, he also mentored several artistes including King Saha, late Radio and Weasel, Papa Cidy among others that left his Leone Island music empire and made it as standalone artistes.
