Legendary singer, Majek Fashek is dead

Nigerian Iconic singer-songwriter and guitarist, Majekodunmi Fasheke popularly known as Majek Fashek is dead.

The sad news was announced recently by popular music producer Samklef on his Instagram page.

According to his manager, Umenka Uzoma Day revealed that he was seriously ill and was admitted at a medical facility in London. “Majek Fashek is very sick as we are currently at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolich in England.”

He was best known for the 1988 album ‘Prisoner of Conscience‘, which included the multiple award-winning single “Send Down the Rain“.

Before his death, he worked with various artists worldwide, including Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg and Beyoncé.

He will be greatly missed.
