When Ronald Mayinja was listed among performed at Catherine Kusasira’s concert, he made a vow to sing only the songs hitting at government. This was inspired by news that President Museveni would be in attendance.
Things happened as planned. Museveni was in attendance, and Mayinja did not cower to sing songs that hit at him.
He sang Bizemu, which got the President bitter.
Museveni said Mayinja was misinforming the public. Mayinja’s song says that killings, rape and other evils that plagued the country many years ago have returned.
The President took to the microphone to dispute his song and say, it was a trash song.
Museveni says nothing mentioned in Mayinja’s song is true. “Yes, the killings are there but it is not the government killing people like it was in the formative years. This time it is the killers and we are fighting them.”
